Holding our breath
Over the last couple of months the entire tourism industry has been holding its breath. There are moments that entices one to think that one can catch a breath of fresh air, but it’s only temporary…no calm, energising and harmonious breathing in-and-out as yet.
While we keep holding our breath, we have that clear goal in front of us, that keeps us going – the goal to rebuild our tourism industry in a responsible, safe, diversified and sustainable manner for a better, and stronger future.

The sailing boat “Tourismstrong”
Corona Times are like a stormy sea…
Over the last couple of months the international sailing boat “tourismstrong” offered free seats to anyone involved in tourism – from accommodation, activity and transport suppliers to destination managers, tour operators and travel agents. It’s a bumpy journey, a long one and without any clear indication of when the bad weather will clear. What did become very clear is that we are all in this together! So let’s sit close together, hold on tight and survive this storm! #IamTourism #WeAreTourism
A tribute to our trade partners
Travel advisors are fighting daily to avoid refunds and minimize penalty fees while constantly staying informed on all the latest warnings, regulations, protocols and travel trends to be #travelready when the world starts to travel again. It is a commitment to an industry that many of us are so deeply passionate about. This commitment certainly requires a positive mindset and gives #tourismstrong a deeper meaning, a whole new dimension! This article is a tribute we wish to pay to you on behalf of Cape Country Routes, a group of owner-managed accommodation and activity products that has and will always work closely with tour operators and travel agents.
Back to the “Routes“
As the travel world we used to know is undergoing severe changes and the so called #VUCA world (a world marked by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) becomes the new reality, travel experts predict that we will soon be witnessing a #BackToTheRoutes movement, a movement towards travel along the quiet, off the beaten track and crowd-free roads. People long for freedom, personal freedom but also the desire to move around freely, spend time outdoors, witness fauna and flora unfold – enjoy nature at its best!
